Monte Vista Chamber of Commerce and Rio Grande Tourism are pleased to host Mountainfilm on Tour in the San Luis Valley. This marks our 2nd year for this event. Sure we did it just this past January but we have a new slate of films this time! Even some local flavor with films about the Cumbres Toltec Railroad, others with folks from Montrose, and Telluride. Mountain adventures, skiing, climbing, boarding, running... Where? Try the United States, India, or maybe Denmark or on Antarctica.
Mountainfilm on Tour visits the San Luis Valley on September 12, 2019 at the Vali Theater in Monte Vista. The show starts at 7:00 pm – doors will open at 6:30 pm. Join us for an evening of inspiring and captivating films handpicked from the Mountainfilm festival in Telluride, Colorado.
Founded in 1979, Mountainfilm is one of America’s longest-running film festivals. Mountainfilm is a dynamic organization and festival of films, people, art, stories, and ideas that celebrate indomitable spirit, educates and inspires audiences, and motivates individuals and communities to advance solutions for a livable world.
Mountainfilm on Tour | San Luis Valley will feature a collection of culturally rich, adventure-packed and enlightening documentary short films that align with Mountainfilm’s mission to use the power of film, art and ideas to inspire audiences to create a better world. A Mountainfilm presenter will guide the audience through the program providing insight on the films, filmmakers and subjects.
A pre-show fundraiser will be held at Rain Brews at 104 Adams St., Monte Vista starting at 4:00 pm. Please come mingle with your friends, bid on fun gifts, enjoy San Luis Valley's finest brews and tasty munchies
