Recent Projects
The Monte Vista Community Development Committee (MVCDC) and the Monte Vista Chamber of Commerce worked on a project to help beautify the town of Monte Vista and give a better location for event banners to be seen on the west and east side of Monte Vista. It was labeled as the Banner Station Project which included two banner stations located at the west end of Chapman Park and Montez Park by Sonic on the east end of town. The project included two 25 foot poles set 15 feet apart with several eye bolts place in the pole to tie banners to for display at each location. With these stations it gives a good location, sturdy structure and a visible location for event banner presentation.
The project would not have been possible without the donation help from Monte Vista Chamber, San Luis Valley Rural Electric, City of Monte Vista, Monte Vista Rotary and the Monte Vista Kiwanis. A special thanks goes to the San Luis Valley Rural Electric for their donation of the crew and equipment to dig the holes and set the poles.
The City of Monte Vista has offered to hang any banner at the stations once they have been contacted for the event and given the banner (s) to place on the station locations. This process is being done to promote safety in the placement of the banners. The city can be contacted at City Hall or by calling 719-852-2692.
Remember our community working together can make the Monte Vista area a great place.
